Balochistan: Pakistan Security Forces Claim 48 Militants Killed in Operations

Islamabad (Terror Monitor) — At least 48 militants have been killed in security operations across several districts of Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province, according to the military.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, said security forces had killed 48 militants during operations conducted across various parts of Balochistan over the past three days.

According to the ISPR, security forces carried out multiple intelligence-based operations in the districts of Mastung, Quetta, Kalat and Sibi during the previous 12 to 24 hours.

The military said the operations targeted militants affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Baloch separatist groups, with 36 militants killed in the latest operations.

The ISPR refers to the TTP as “Fitna al-Khawarij” and Baloch separatist groups as “Fitna al-Hindustan.”

Six Militants Killed in Mastung

According to the ISPR, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Mastung district on September 4.

The military said forces detected the movement of militants in the area and engaged them, resulting in an intense exchange of fire in which six militants were killed.

Two Militants Killed in Kalat

The ISPR said security forces also conducted an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district after receiving information about the presence of militants.

According to the statement, security forces raided a militant hideout, resulting in an exchange of fire in which two militants were killed.

Attack on Bhagh Police Station Foiled

The ISPR said security forces in the Bhagh area of Sibi district, with the assistance of local residents, responded swiftly to an attempted attack on the Bhagh Police Station.

Two militants were killed in an exchange of fire, according to the military.

The ISPR said a total of 48 militants had been killed in security operations conducted across various areas of Balochistan over the past three days.

The military said security forces were continuing intelligence-based operations across Balochistan to eliminate militant activity and maintain law and order.
