Clashes in West Bank’s Nablus Kill Four Palestinians and One Israeli

Gaza (Terror Monitor) — Four Palestinians and one Israeli were killed in clashes near the village of Tal, southwest of Nablus in the occupied West Bank on Friday, as Palestinian and Israeli accounts differed over how the confrontation began.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said the four Palestinians were killed by Israeli army fire, while four others were injured, including three in critical condition.
According to the ministry, the incident occurred after residents of the village confronted attacks by Israeli settlers. It said settlers attacked Palestinian homes in Tal and opened direct fire on residents. Medical sources warned that the number of casualties could increase.
Meanwhile, Israeli emergency services said one Israeli was killed during clashes near Tal village and the Israeli settlement of Havat Gilad.
A Palestinian eyewitness told the BBC that village residents confronted around 30 settlers who were allegedly attacking Palestinian homes in the area.
In contrast, the Israeli military said a group of Israeli civilians who were walking in the area came under attack, after which soldiers intervened to protect them.
The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, citing the Israeli version of events, claimed that a Palestinian seized a weapon from a settlement security officer and opened fire at Israelis.
Terror Monitor was unable to independently verify the circumstances that led to the clashes.
