India: Five Alleged Militant Associates Arrested in Kashmir

Srinagar (Terror Monitor) — Security forces in India-administered Kashmir have arrested five alleged militant associates during a joint operation in Kulgam district, recovering pistols, ammunition and hand grenades from their possession, officials said.

According to authorities, personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other security agencies conducted a joint operation in the Bugam Orchard area of Kulgam.

During a search operation, five individuals were taken into custody. They were identified as Furqan Ahmad Wani, Sohaib Ahmad Pala, Salman Abbas Lone, Nidash Ahmad Reshi and Faisal Akbar Dar.

Officials said four 9mm pistols, four magazines, 22 rounds of 9mm ammunition and two hand grenades were recovered from the suspects.

Authorities said the arrested individuals were allegedly acting as associates of militants operating in the region.

Further investigations have been launched to determine their alleged links, activities and the source of the recovered weapons and ammunition.

Security agencies are also examining whether the suspects were connected to any active militant networks in the area, officials said.
