Iran Executes Two Alleged ISIS Militants Over Armed Activities

Tehran (Terror Monitor) — Iran has executed two men convicted of membership in an ISIS-linked militant cell and involvement in armed activities against the country, according to Iranian state media.

Iran's Mizan News Agency reported that Mohiuddin Abdollahi and Hossein Polani were executed after Iran's Supreme Court upheld their death sentences.

According to Iran's judiciary, the group had been operating in border areas between Iran and Iraq and was attempting to reorganize ISIS networks while planning attacks inside Iran.

Authorities said several members of the cell were killed during security operations, while others were arrested.

Iranian officials also said security forces seized weapons, ammunition, and what they described as important documents during the operation.
