TEHRAN (Terror Monitor) — Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said more than 30 civilians have been killed in recent U.S. strikes in southern Iran.
According to BBC Persian, Mohajerani wrote in a post on X that "more than 30 civilians have lost their lives in attacks carried out in recent days in the southern parts of the country."
Reports from Iran indicate that civilian casualties have been recorded in multiple locations following the attacks.
BBC Persian reported that environmental authorities in Hormozgan Province said three people were killed in a U.S. missile strike on the city of Hajiabad. The victims reportedly included three members of the family of an environmental expert.
Separately, the Iranian military claimed that a U.S. strike targeted a military barracks in Bampur, located in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, killing seven people and wounding several others.
According to the military's public relations office, U.S. forces fired approximately 13 missiles early Wednesday at the residential section of an Iranian Army ground forces barracks in Bampur.
BBC Persian reported that the military said the seven fatalities included active-duty and retired personnel from the 388th Brigade based in Iranshahr. Several injured individuals were transferred to hospitals for treatment.
Earlier, Iranian media reported explosions in Bampur and several coastal cities near the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
There was no immediate response from U.S. officials regarding the Iranian claims.
