Tehran (Terror Monitor) — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Friday, August 21, that the war between Iran and the United States should finally come to an end from what he described as Tehran’s current “position of strength.”
According to reports from Tehran citing Iran’s official IRNA news agency, Pezeshkian made the remarks while addressing participants at a medical conference on Friday.
Pezeshkian said the war, which began with U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran on February 28, should now come to an end.
“Given that Iran is now in a position of strength in this conflict, it would be better for the war to end today rather than tomorrow, from this position of strength and dignity,” he said.
Pezeshkian categorically rejected the possibility that Iran would surrender or back down in the conflict.
“Iran will never surrender, and because of this war, the United States is now being disliked around the world,” he said.
“We will never bow to intimidation and threats; there is no doubt about this. We will deliver a devastating response to our enemies and stand firmly against them,” the Iranian president added.
