Pakistan: 5 TTP Terrorists Killed in Bannu as Violence Continues Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar (Terror Monitor) — Five Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists were killed and several others wounded during a joint intelligence-based operation by police and security forces in Bannu district, while several other violent incidents were reported across Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Five TTP Terrorists Killed in Bannu
Police and security forces conducted a joint operation in the Sadroon, Akbar Ali Khan Kala and adjoining areas of Domel tehsil after receiving intelligence about the presence of TTP terrorists.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of Bannu District Police Officer Captain (retd.) Muhammad Furqan Bilal.
According to police, security personnel cordoned off the area and used drone technology to locate and target the terrorists. Five TTP terrorists were killed and several others were wounded during the operation.
Police said the wounded terrorists were taken away by their associates into bushes and difficult-to-access areas.
A search and clearance operation remains underway in the area to locate possible terrorist hideouts and track the movement of militants. Further details are expected after the operation is completed.
Policeman Killed in Bajaur Checkpoint Attack
In the tribal district of Bajaur, armed terrorists attacked a police checkpoint in Kohi Sar area of Barang tehsil, killing Policeman Zahir Shah and wounding another officer.
According to police, the attackers targeted the Kohi Sar police post operated under Barang police station. Police personnel engaged the attackers during the assault.
Zahir Shah was killed in the exchange of fire, while another police officer sustained injuries.
His funeral prayers were held at the Bajaur Police Lines and attended by senior police and civil administration officials, Bajaur Scouts, military personnel, family members, tribal elders and local residents.
Police officials paid tribute to Zahir Shah and said his sacrifice would be remembered. The Bajaur district police chief said security forces and law-enforcement agencies would continue operations against armed terrorists.
Two Police Stations Attacked in Dera Ismail Khan
Armed terrorists attacked two police stations in Dera Ismail Khan district overnight.
Police said the attackers targeted Prova and Daraban police stations. Local residents reported hearing prolonged gunfire from both locations.
No casualties were reported in the attacks, according to police.
Investigations have been launched to identify the attackers and determine the motives behind the assaults.
Two Men Killed in Tank Shooting
Two men, including the brother of a former peace committee chief, were killed when armed terrorists opened fire in Jandola subdivision of Tank district.
Police sources identified the victims as Sangri and Aziz ur Rahman. Both men died at the scene.
Rescue teams transported the bodies to a local hospital, while police launched an investigation and a search for those responsible.
Hand Grenade Attack on Tank City Police Station
Armed terrorists also attacked the City Police Station in Tank with a hand grenade.
Police said the attackers threw the grenade at the police station before fleeing. No casualties or significant property damage were reported, and all police personnel remained safe.
Police and security forces cordoned off the area following the attack and launched a search operation in and around the police station.
Landmine Blast Injures Man in Kurram
In Kurram district, a landmine explosion in the border village of Pewar seriously injured a man.
Police sources said Gulzar Hussain was walking from his home toward agricultural fields when he stepped on a landmine planted along the route.
He sustained serious injuries and was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Parachinar.
Hospital sources said one of his feet was severely damaged and he was receiving medical treatment.
Residents said landmine explosions have previously killed and injured people in villages near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and called for the area to be cleared of unexploded mines.
Six Family Members Injured in Lower Kurram
Six members of the same family were injured after a mortar shell landed in the Sarha Ghorgha area of Lower Kurram.
The injured included four women, a girl and a man. Local residents transported them to the nearby Basic Health Unit in Mandori for medical treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the mortar shelling were not immediately clear.
The series of incidents highlights continued security challenges across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where police and security forces are conducting intelligence-based operations and search operations against armed terrorist groups.
