Peshawar (Terror Monitor) At least seven people were killed and six others injured in two explosions near passenger vehicles in the Domel area of Bannu district in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
District Police Officer (DPO) Yasir Afridi told local journalists that the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Ahmadzai Police Station, where two explosions resulted in multiple casualties.
According to Noor Daraz, a local peace committee leader, a passenger vehicle driven by Allah Noor was traveling with passengers, including members of the driver's family, when it was struck by an explosive device near Marka Bera.
Police said that after the initial blast, a second explosion, reportedly triggered by a remote-controlled device, targeted another vehicle that had arrived to transport the wounded, causing additional casualties.
Local sources told Terror Monitor that rescue efforts were hampered by rough mountainous terrain and unpaved roads, delaying the evacuation of victims. The bodies of those killed were later shifted to a Rural Health Center (RHC), while the injured were taken to KGN Hospital for treatment.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area, collected evidence from the scene, and launched an investigation into the incident. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
