Pakistan: 9 Terrorists Killed in Separate Operations and Attacks Across KP

PESHAWAR (Terror Monitor) — At least nine terrorists were killed in separate security operations and attacks across Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, while a kidnapped police officer and another abducted man were rescued.
One police constable and a tribal elder were also killed, while three police personnel were injured in separate incidents.
Four Terrorists Killed, Kidnapped Police Officer Rescued in Kurram
Police and security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation against terrorists and kidnappers in the Tareli area of central Kurram tribal district, rescuing kidnapped police Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammadi Khan and another man.
Police sources said the operation was launched on the basis of sensitive intelligence. During the operation, security forces exchanged fire with terrorists, killing four of them.
A local man identified as Wajid, who was reportedly kidnapped, was also rescued during the operation.
According to police sources, the terrorists killed in the operation were affiliated with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s Kazim group.
Police sources said the intelligence-based operation was successfully completed, while search and clearance operations are continuing in the area amid concerns about the possible presence of additional terrorists.
Tribal Elder Killed in South Waziristan Shooting
In the Manzakai area of Ladha subdivision in South Waziristan tribal district, unidentified armed terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on tribal elder Malik Naik Muhammad Mehsud, killing him on the spot.
Police sources said the attackers targeted Malik Naik Muhammad Mehsud in Manzakai before fleeing toward the surrounding mountainous area.
Police launched an operation following the incident and began collecting evidence and searching for the attackers.
Wanted Terrorist Killed in Lakki Marwat Operation
Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in Lakki Marwat.
During the operation, a highly wanted terrorist identified as Daud, alias Adil, also known as Malik Khel, was killed.
Security forces are continuing a search operation in the area to locate other terrorists.
Four Terrorists Killed in Hangu Attack on Police Checkpoint
In Hangu, terrorists reportedly attacked the Anar China police checkpoint using a quadcopter drone, injuring two police personnel identified as Faisal and Zafar Haider.
Police said a large contingent led by Hangu District Police Officer Tariq Habib Khan was dispatched to the checkpoint after receiving information about the attack. Frontier Corps personnel also moved toward the checkpoint alongside the police contingent.
Sources said reports were also received that armed terrorists affiliated with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan had allegedly set up ambushes in mountainous areas surrounding the checkpoint and along routes leading to Anar China, apparently targeting reinforcements and personnel heading toward the area.
The checkpoint also reportedly came under sniper fire from multiple directions.
Security forces and police subsequently repelled the attack. Four terrorists were killed and three others injured in an exchange of fire.

Police responded promptly and repelled the attack, while security forces’ quick response teams also arrived at the scene to assist the police.
Police Constable Killed, Another Injured in Karak Attack
In Karak district, unidentified armed terrorists opened fire on a police vehicle in the jurisdiction of Sabirabad police station, killing Constable Zafran and injuring Constable Muhammad Imtiaz.
Police said the patrol vehicle was targeted by unidentified armed terrorists last night while it was conducting routine patrols in the Shankai Dam area.
Following the attack, police launched a search-and-strike operation in the area and deployed additional personnel at various locations.
Police officials said strict surveillance was being maintained over the movement of suspected individuals.
The injured police constable was shifted to a hospital for immediate medical treatment.
Police said all possible measures would be taken to bring those responsible for the attack to justice and that efforts to arrest the perpetrators were continuing.
