Pakistan: Attacks, Clashes Leave 1 Policeman Killed, 27 Injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar (Terror Monitor) — At least one Policeman was killed and 27 people, including security personnel, were injured in a series of explosions, armed attacks, clashes and abductions reported across several districts of Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province over the past 24 hours.

Two armed militants were also reportedly killed in separate incidents, while three watchmen were allegedly abducted.

Explosion Near Police Post in Peshawar

Seven people, including two police officers on duty, were injured in an explosion near a police post in the Chamkani area of Peshawar.

According to Rescue 1122, the blast occurred after unidentified armed men allegedly threw an explosive device near the Tarnab Farm Police Post. Seven people, including two police officers, were injured.

Rescue personnel provided first aid at the scene before transferring the injured to a hospital. Authorities are investigating the nature of the explosion and the explosives used.

Alleged Drone Attack on Security Forces’ Convoy

Meanwhile, around 20 security personnel were reportedly injured in an alleged quadcopter attack targeting a security forces’ convoy traveling from Dera Ismail Khan toward Waziristan.

Initial reports said the injured included five Pakistan Army personnel and 14 Frontier Corps personnel, while the identity and unit of one additional injured person remained subject to further verification.

According to sources, the convoy was carrying out routine movement when it allegedly came under a drone attack. The injured personnel were subsequently transported for medical treatment.

Security was tightened in the area following the incident, while authorities reportedly launched an investigation into the nature of the attack, the drone’s direction and those allegedly involved.

The preliminary list of injured personnel included Hidayatullah, Lance Naik Anwar, Ismail, Sepoy Khushal, Subedar Shabbir, Sepoy Imdadullah, Sepoy Naheed, Lance Naik Muhammad Shahid, Subedar Jahangir, Subedar Abid Ali, Lance Naik Jaber, Lance Naik Asghar, Lance Naik Muhammad Waqas, Lance Naik Sifatullah, Lance Naik Asif, Havildar Muhammad Hassan, Sepoy Jamshed, Sepoy Farooq, Musawir and Naik Haider Ali.

However, the final number and identities of those injured, as well as the complete nature of the incident, remain subject to official confirmation.

Policeman Killed in South Waziristan

In Upper South Waziristan tribal district, unidentified armed men reportedly targeted a vehicle with a hand grenade before opening fire.

According to sources, Policeman Abdullah was killed in the attack, while Musa Khan, also known as Musk, was injured.

Security personnel launched an operation in the area following the incident, but no further information was immediately available regarding the identification or arrest of those involved.

Two Armed Men Reportedly Killed in Bannu Operation

Security forces in Bannu district claimed to have killed two militants during an operation based on intelligence regarding the presence of armed men.

According to sources, security forces conducted the operation following intelligence reports. A gun battle reportedly broke out between the forces and the armed men, resulting in the deaths of two militants.

A search of the area reportedly led to the recovery of a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and other equipment from the deceased.

However, the identities of the two men and any affiliation with a militant organization could not be independently verified.

Three Watchmen Allegedly Abducted from Jabba Dam

In the Jamrud area of Khyber tribal district, three watchmen assigned to oversee construction work and safeguard equipment at the Jabba Dam project were allegedly abducted by unidentified armed men.

According to sources, the incident occurred on the night of August 25, when armed men allegedly took the watchmen into custody at gunpoint and took them away.

The abducted men were identified as Mumtaz, son of Saipor; Meena Gul, son of Khewa Gul; and Sadias, son of Noor Wazir. Sources said all three belonged to the Ismail Khel tribe.

Concern has been reported in the area following the incident, while authorities have reportedly begun efforts to secure their release.

Authorities are also investigating the motive behind the abduction and the identities of those involved.

Armed Attack on Gomal Police Station in Tank

In Tank district, militants attacked Gomal Police Station with sniper rifles and other heavy weapons. The attackers fled after police and Frontier Corps personnel mounted an immediate response.

Police sources said personnel from Frontier Corps 221 Wing were also present at the police station at the time of the attack.

According to sources, the armed men suddenly opened fire on the station, prompting police and FC personnel to return fire.

The attackers reportedly fled without causing further damage following sustained resistance and retaliatory fire from the security personnel.

Police and other security agencies launched a search operation in the area to locate those involved.

Security measures have been further tightened across several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following the incidents, while authorities continue operations to identify and arrest those responsible.

The banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for several of the reported attacks.
