Peshawar (Terror Monitor) — At least 15 militants were killed in a security operation, while a policeman was also killed and several security personnel and civilians were injured in multiple terrorist incidents across Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The incidents included counterterrorism operations, targeted killings, armed attacks and a bomb blast reported in several districts of the province.

15 Militants Killed in Upper Dir

Police and security forces jointly launched an operation in the Barikot area of Upper Dir district after militants affiliated with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) allegedly attempted to attack a joint police and security forces convoy.

According to police, the convoy was travelling toward the Dobando Check Post when militants attempted to attack it near Barikot village.

Security forces and police responded immediately and thwarted the attack. Officials said 15 attackers were killed and several others were wounded in the exchange of fire.

Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched search and clearance operations to locate any remaining militants.

Two Militants Killed in Bannu

In Bannu district, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and district police conducted an operation against militants in Akbar Ali Khan Kalay and surrounding areas within the jurisdiction of Domel Police Station.

Police said CTD Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams and district police pursued the militants, triggering an intense exchange of fire that continued for some time.

A subsequent search operation confirmed that two militants had been killed. Police recovered one body, while the second body was reportedly taken away by the militants’ associates.

Authorities said the identities of the killed militants were being established.

A sniper rifle and an M4 rifle were also recovered from the militants. Further search and clearance operations were continuing in the area.

Wanted TTP Commander ‘Gaidar’ Killed in Bannu

In a separate operation in Bannu, police and CTD personnel killed a highly wanted militant commander associated with the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan.

District Police Officer Muhammad Furqan Bilal confirmed the operation, saying that a highly wanted militant commander known as Gaidar was killed during the joint operation.

Two Bodies Recovered in Bannu

Two bodies were recovered from the roadside in Domel tehsil of Bannu district.

Local sources said the bodies were found near the Bakhamali petrol station on Sadakhel Road. Initial information indicated that the victims were from the Muhmand Khel area.

Police suspected that the two men may have been shot and killed by militants. However, the exact circumstances of their deaths and those responsible remained under investigation.

Police took the bodies into custody and launched an investigation.

A day earlier, unidentified militants had reportedly shot and killed a Frontier Corps (FC) personnel in the same area.

Policeman Killed in Targeted Attack in Charsadda

A policeman serving with the Elite Force was killed in a targeted attack by unidentified armed motorcycle riders in Charsadda district, while a rickshaw driver was also injured.

Police said the incident occurred at Patki Chowk within the jurisdiction of City Police Station, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on a Qingqi rickshaw.

The shooting killed Ziaullah, an Elite Force policeman deployed in Peshawar, and wounded the rickshaw driver.

Police shifted the policeman’s body to the District Headquarters Hospital, while the attackers fled the scene on motorcycles.

A search operation was launched to locate the attackers.

Two Motorway Policemen Wounded in Dera Ismail Khan

Two Motorway Police personnel were wounded when unidentified armed men opened fire on them along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) road in Dera Ismail Khan.

According to police, the attack took place near Wonda Yarak within the jurisdiction of Kari Khaisur Police Station. The attackers, who were reportedly travelling from the Lakki Marwat direction, targeted the Motorway Police personnel.

Head Constable Farhan and Head Constable Kifayatullah were wounded and received medical treatment.

Local sources said the explosion occurred in the Shah Khani area of Charmanq.

The injured women were transferred to a hospital in critical condition for medical treatment.

Security personnel cordoned off the area following the explosion and launched an investigation into the nature of the blast and those responsible.

Security Situation Remains Tense

The series of counterterrorism operations, targeted killings, attacks on police and security personnel, and the bomb blast reported across several districts highlights the continuing security challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Security agencies have intensified search, clearance and intelligence-based operations across the province. Authorities say efforts are underway to arrest those involved in the attacks and dismantle militant networks operating in the region.
