Islamabad (Terror Monitor) — Pakistan’s security forces have claimed to have killed five militants during an intelligence-based operation in Panjgur district of Balochistan province.
According to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on August 10, 2026, after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants in the Panjgur area.
The military’s media wing said security forces targeted a militant hideout based on the intelligence information, killing five militants in the operation.
According to the military, the militants were affiliated with the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). However, ISPR referred to them in its statement as militants belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan.
Weapons and explosives recovered
ISPR said security forces recovered a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives from the militants killed during the operation.
The recovered material reportedly included improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other military equipment. The security forces took the material into custody and subsequently destroyed it, according to the statement.
The military said a clearance and search operation was continuing in the area to locate any remaining militants, their hideouts and possible facilitators.
Army vows to continue counterterrorism operations
In its statement, ISPR said Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism from the country and establishing lasting peace.
The military said security forces were determined to counter terrorism allegedly carried out with foreign sponsorship and support and would continue operations to prevent attempts to undermine peace and stability in the country.
According to ISPR, clearance operations will continue until the area has been fully secured and potential militant hideouts and networks have been eliminated.
Security forces have been conducting intelligence-based operations in various districts of Balochistan in recent months, targeting the activities, hideouts and logistical networks of armed groups operating in the province.
