Pakistan: Six BLA Militants Killed in Pishin Operation, One Security Official Killed in Mastung Blast

Quetta (Terror Monitor) — Security forces have killed six militants affiliated with the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) during an intelligence-based operation in Saranan area of Pishin district in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province, according to sources.

The sources said security forces launched the operation after receiving intelligence about the presence and movement of militants in the area. An exchange of fire took place during the operation, resulting in the killing of six BLA militants.

According to officials, the militants were allegedly involved in recent attacks targeting workers from outside Balochistan in Pishin. The attacks were reportedly aimed at spreading fear among civilians and creating instability in the area.

Security forces also claimed to have recovered weapons and other materials from the militants’ hideout during the operation. A search for additional militants and their facilitators is continuing in the area.

Officials said intelligence-based operations against militant elements would continue across Balochistan and security measures were being strengthened to protect civilians.

In a separate incident in Mastung district, also in Balochistan, a security forces convoy was allegedly targeted by an explosion near the Goru area on the national highway in Khadkocha. The blast reportedly killed one security official and injured 10 others.

Rescue sources said the body of the deceased official and the injured personnel were shifted to Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital, where the wounded were receiving medical treatment.

Following the blast, the national highway was closed to traffic in both directions, while reports of gunfire also emerged from the area. Security forces cordoned off the site and launched a search operation.

Further details about the nature of the blast and the material used in the attack have not yet emerged. An investigation into the incident is underway.
