Pakistan: Two Security Personnel Killed, Seven Injured in Bomb Blast in Mastung

Quetta (Terror Monitor) — Two security personnel were killed and seven others injured in a bomb attack targeting a security forces convoy in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province, officials said.

The incident took place in the Goru area of Khadkocha in Mastung district, where unidentified militants had reportedly planted explosives along the route.

According to government sources, the explosive device detonated as security forces’ vehicles were passing through the area, killing two personnel and injuring seven others.

The injured personnel were taken to a military hospital for medical treatment.

Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar condemned the attack on the security forces’ convoy and expressed grief over the deaths. He said such attacks could not undermine the morale of security forces or the public.

Third Incident in Khadkocha in Two Days

The blast was the third reported violent incident in Khadkocha within two days.

On the previous day, six people were killed and three others injured in two separate incidents in the area.

A police officer from Khadkocha, speaking on condition of anonymity, said two of the victims were found dead after being shot by unidentified individuals.

The officer said the other four people were killed and three injured when explosives detonated in an orchard where they were working.

The victims were reportedly labourers working in an apple orchard.

Provincial National Party President Aslam Baloch and Balochistan National Party central leader Abdul Rauf Mengal alleged that the incident in which four labourers were killed and three injured was caused by a drone strike.

Both political leaders called for an independent investigation into the incident in Mastung.
