Pakistan: Woman Killed, Over 10 Injured in Suspected Drone Strike Near Peshawar

PESHAWAR (Terror Monitor) — A suspected drone strike in Shah Mat Khel, Hassan Khel, on the outskirts of Peshawar, killed one woman and injured more than 10 people, including women and children.

According to police, rescue operations began immediately after the explosion. The injured were evacuated from the scene and shifted to nearby medical facilities, while critically wounded victims were transferred to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) for specialized treatment.

An LRH spokesperson said five injured victims have so far been brought to the hospital, including three men and two women, aged between 15 and 80 years.

Two people with minor injuries were discharged after receiving first aid, while three others remain under treatment.

Sources said the total number of injured exceeds 10, including women and children, with several reported to be in critical condition.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the nature of the incident, those responsible, or the motive behind the attack. An investigation is underway.

Hassan Khel and surrounding areas on the outskirts of Peshawar have long witnessed militant activity by banned factions of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). These groups have previously carried out attacks targeting police, security forces, and government installations, and have claimed responsibility for multiple incidents. However, officials have not linked the current attack to any group, and no organization has claimed responsibility so far.
