Saudi-Led Coalition Confirms Strikes on Houthi Military Targets in Yemen

Riyadh (Terror Monitor) — The Saudi-led coalition has confirmed carrying out airstrikes in Yemen's Al Hudaydah governorate, saying the operation targeted Houthi military positions.

In a statement, the coalition said it struck military objectives linked to the Houthis and emphasized that Al Hudaydah Port was not targeted. It added that all Yemeni ports remain open to maritime traffic.

According to the coalition, the destroyed targets were connected to threats against commercial shipping in the Red Sea. It warned that any further Houthi attacks would be met with a response.

Earlier, Houthi-affiliated media claimed Saudi airstrikes had hit Al Hudaydah and Yemen's Kamaran Island.

The Houthi-run Al Masirah TV channel reported that Saudi warplanes carried out airstrikes on the western coastal city of Al Hudaydah and also targeted Kamaran Island.

Meanwhile, Yemen's state news agency claimed that Saudi airstrikes hit facilities belonging to the Telecommunications Corporation in Al Hudaydah.

The strikes came a day after the Houthi movement, Ansar Allah, said it had targeted two Saudi oil tankers, claiming the vessels had violated a maritime blockade imposed by the group.

Six days earlier, Ansar Allah announced a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia. A spokesman for the group said the move was a response to what it described as the Saudi-led blockade on Yemen, adding that the closure of Sana'a International Airport was unacceptable and would be answered with reciprocal measures.
