Terrorists Abduct Government High School Principal in Pakistan’s Orakzai

Peshawar (Terror Monitor) — Armed terrorists entered a government high school in the Orakzai tribal district of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, seized mobile phones from teachers and abducted the school’s principal, police said.

According to information received by Terror Monitor, unidentified terrorists entered Government High School Mushti Bazaar in the Mushti Mela area of Central Orakzai and took mobile phones belonging to teachers before abducting the principal, Muhammad Iqbal Afridi.

The principal was reportedly taken to an undisclosed location. No further details about his whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding the abduction were immediately available.

Police launched operations following the incident to recover the abducted principal and arrest those responsible.

District Police Officer (DPO) Shaukat Ali said police had initiated a search operation in the area under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mehboob Khan.

Authorities are investigating the incident from multiple angles as efforts continue to locate the missing principal and identify the perpetrators.

Police officials have not disclosed further details about the suspects or established a motive for the abduction. There was no immediate information about any ransom demand or claim of responsibility.

The incident has raised concerns over the security of educational institutions and teachers in Orakzai, a tribal district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that has experienced security challenges linked to militant violence.

Police said efforts to recover Muhammad Iqbal Afridi and bring those responsible to justice were underway.
