Yemen: Clashes Between Houthis and Government Forces Kill More Than 60

Sana’a (Terror Monitor) — More than 60 people have been killed in clashes between Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces and the Iran-aligned Houthi movement in Yemen, according to medical and military sources cited by AFP.
The report said civilians were also among those killed.
According to AFP, 26 government personnel were killed in several hours of fighting in southwestern Yemen.
Medical and military sources affiliated with the Iran-aligned Houthis also reported the deaths of 31 of their fighters.
In the government-controlled city of Taiz, medical sources said six civilians were killed and seven others injured in a missile attack on a bus.
The Houthis, who refer to themselves as Ansar Allah, control much of northern Yemen, large areas of the western coast along the Red Sea, and the capital, Sana’a.
Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, which is internationally recognized as the country’s government, is backed by Saudi Arabia and controls eastern Yemen and parts of the southern coast, including the port city of Aden.
