Afghanistan Claims 28 Fighters Killed in Nuristan, Pakistan Rejects Allegations
KABUL (Terror Monitor) — Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense on Sunday claimed that its security forces killed 28 fighters and detained 32 others during an operation against an armed group that had allegedly crossed into eastern Afghanistan from Pakistan.

Three people, including two teenage cricketers, were killed and three others seriously injured when terrorists ambushed a group returning from a cricket match in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Police said a terrorist commander was later found dead during a search operation, while two others were reportedly injured.
Armed terrorists attacked a road construction company’s camp in Duki district of Balochistan, killing one security guard and injuring another before abducting 18 workers. Security forces have launched a search operation to recover the hostages and locate the attackers.
A suicide attack near a joint checkpoint in Darazinda, Dera Ismail Khan, killed at least 15 people and injured more than 35 others. A Rescue 1122 ambulance was later targeted by gunmen, killing one rescue worker and injuring two others. The TTP claimed responsibility for the attack.
Multiple Afghan Taliban personnel were reportedly killed after Pakistani security forces foiled an alleged border incursion in Balochistan’s Gulistan sector, according to Pakistani security sources. The reported clashes come amid escalating tensions following Pakistani airstrikes inside Afghanistan and accusations over cross-border drone attacks. Neither Pakistan’s military nor the Afghan Taliban has issued a detailed official statement on the latest confrontation.
Brigadier General Hossein Zarifi, a senior IRGC commander, was killed in clashes with armed men in Iran’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iranian media reported. Tasnim said five members of the armed group were also killed in the fighting in Saravan, although the reported casualties have not been independently verified.
A suicide bomber was killed and a police officer was killed while three others were wounded during a CTD operation in Peshawar’s Warsak Road area. Separately, two polio workers went missing while returning from duty in Dera Ismail Khan, with their family reporting a suspected abduction by armed terrorists.
Pakistan says it carried out precision air and drone strikes on 10 locations in Afghanistan after intercepting eight drones that Islamabad said entered its airspace from Afghan territory. Reports also emerged of strikes in Khost and Kandahar, including an alleged strike on a compound associated with former Taliban leader Mullah Omar, although the latter has not been independently verified.
