Pakistan :CTD officer killed in BLA attack in Nushki

Quetta ((Terror Monitor) In Pakistan’s Balochistan province, a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officer was killed in a targeted shooting incident by armed militants in Nushki district.
According to police, motorcycle-riding assailants opened fire on the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of CTD at Ahmadwal Stop in Nushki city on Thursday. The officer died on the spot as a result of the firing.
The deceased officer has been identified as Muhammad Afzal Muhammad Hassani.
Following the incident, police and other law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area, collected evidence from the scene, and launched a search operation to track down the attackers.
The banned organization Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Balochistan Chief Minister’s spokesperson for media and political affairs, Shahid Rind, expressed sorrow over the incident and said that Muhammad Afzal Muhammad Hassani had rendered valuable services for peace and security in the province.
He further stated that Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti took notice of the incident and directed authorities to immediately investigate the attack, arrest those involved, and take all necessary steps to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Officials said security forces are reviewing all aspects of the incident, while investigations and search operations are ongoing.
