QUETTA (Terror Monitor) — Six terrorists affiliated with the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) were killed during security operations in Sarang Tangi on the outskirts of Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province, security sources said Tuesday.
According to the sources, security forces conducted the operation based on intelligence regarding the presence of members of what Pakistani authorities refer to as “Fitna al-Hindustan.”
Nine suspected individuals were also arrested during the operations, the sources said.
Security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the possession of the terrorists killed during the operation, according to the sources.
The term “Fitna al-Hindustan” is used by Pakistani government and military authorities to refer to elements or networks they allege are involved in terrorism, propaganda and subversive activities in Pakistan with alleged Indian backing or patronage.
The claims regarding the operation and the identities of those killed and arrested had not been independently verified.
