Pakistan: Two TTP Commanders Killed in Operations in KP

Peshawar (Terror Monitor) — Pakistani security forces killed two wanted terrorist commanders in separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while an alleged infiltration attempt by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was thwarted in Kurram district, according to security sources.
In Bannu, security forces killed Fatehullah, also known as Saifullah Fateh, a terrorist affiliated with the Waziristani Karwan faction of Jaish Tahrir al-Hind, according to the sources.
Fatehullah was identified as the head of the faction’s military wing and its deputy military commander in Bannu. Security sources said he was wanted in connection with terrorist activities in the area.
Separately, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. During an exchange of fire, a wanted terrorist commander identified as Pawar Khan was killed, according to security sources.
The sources said Pawar Khan was wanted by security agencies for his alleged involvement in multiple terrorist attacks. Following the operation, security forces conducted a search operation in the area to locate any other terrorists and secure the surrounding area.
TTP Infiltration Attempt Reportedly Thwarted in Kurram
Meanwhile, security forces reportedly thwarted an attempted cross-border infiltration by TTP terrorists through the Kurram sector.
According to security sources, following the failed infiltration attempt, Afghan Taliban forces opened what Pakistan described as unprovoked fire on Pakistani border posts from positions in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar and Paktia provinces.
The sources said Afghan Taliban positions targeted Pakistani border posts with heavy weapons, mortars and other arms. Pakistani security forces responded by targeting several Afghan Taliban border posts and mortar positions.
Security sources said Pakistani forces maintained control of the border areas and that several Afghan Taliban positions were subsequently abandoned as a result of the exchange of fire.
The reported clashes and cross-border firing have not been independently verified, and there was no immediate official statement from Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities regarding the incident.
Pakistani security sources said intelligence-based operations against terrorist groups, their commanders and facilitators are continuing in sensitive areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
