KYIV (Terror Monitor) At least 10 people were killed and dozens injured after Russia launched a wave of overnight airstrikes across Ukraine, targeting areas from the country's east to west, Ukrainian officials said on Thursday.
The attacks struck multiple regions, including the capital Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy, marking one of the latest large-scale Russian bombardments that have intensified since the beginning of the summer.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia fired more than 70 missiles, including a significant number of ballistic missiles, along with over 280 attack drones. He said Ukrainian air defenses intercepted more than 260 of the drones but acknowledged growing shortages of air defense missiles supplied by partner countries.
According to Ukrainian authorities, Dnipropetrovsk region alone reported six fatalities and 10 injuries, while residential areas and civilian infrastructure suffered extensive damage.
Zelensky urged Ukraine's international partners to accelerate the delivery of air defense systems, saying the latest attacks underscored the urgent need to strengthen the country's defenses against continued Russian missile and drone strikes.
