At Least 10 Killed in Houthi Attacks in Yemen’s Oil-Rich Marib Province

Sanna (Terror Monitor) At least 10 people have been killed in a series of Houthi attacks in Yemen’s oil-rich Marib province, as violence between the Iran-backed Houthi rebels and Saudi-backed government forces continues to escalate.
According to Yemeni military sources cited by AFP, eight members of the government forces were killed and 12 others wounded in the latest Houthi attacks.
Yemen’s Saudi-backed government said shelling of residential areas and displacement camps in Marib city killed two civilians and wounded 14 others.
The Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for an attack targeting a camp belonging to government forces in Marib province.
The latest attacks came a day after Houthi missile strikes in Marib reportedly killed at least 58 members of the government forces.
The escalation follows the collapse last month of a ceasefire between the Iran-backed Houthis and the Saudi-backed Yemeni government that had been in place since 2022.
The United Nations has warned that Yemen faces a growing risk of a return to large-scale fighting, potentially posing the most serious threat to the country’s fragile stability since the ceasefire took effect in April 2022.
The renewed violence in Marib has raised concerns that the conflict could once again intensify across Yemen, where the Houthis control large parts of the north while government forces and their allies retain control of other areas.
