Pakistan: 11 Militants Killed in Security Operations in KP and Balochistan

Peshawar/Quetta (Terror Monitor) — Security forces have killed 11 militants during intelligence-based operations in Pakistan’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southwestern Balochistan, according to security sources.

The operations were conducted in several districts, targeting suspected militant hideouts and movements linked to banned militant organizations, including the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

According to security sources, two militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants, while a militant hideout was destroyed using explosives.

In another operation in the Ladha area of South Waziristan, security forces killed five militants described by officials as “Fitna al-Khawarij” operatives.

The sources said security forces detected the militants’ movement through intelligence and launched an operation before they could carry out an attack.

Four Militants Killed in Khuzdar

In Balochistan, security forces killed four militants during an operation against what officials described as Fitna al-Hindustan in the Sasol area of Khuzdar district.

According to security sources, the militants were targeted with the assistance of drones.

Officials said precautions were taken during the operations to protect the local population and minimize risks to civilians.

Security forces have pledged to continue operations under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam initiative until militant networks are eliminated.

49 Militants Killed Five Days Earlier

The latest operations came five days after security forces and police reported killing 49 militants in separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were aimed at disrupting militant networks and preventing attempts to undermine peace and stability in the country.

A large quantity of explosives, IED detonating devices, weapons, ammunition and motorcycles were reportedly recovered from militant hideouts during those operations.

Following the operations, clearance operations continued in the affected areas to locate and eliminate any remaining militants.

Interior Minister Praises Security Forces

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for what he described as successful operations against militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Naqvi said the forces had thwarted militant attempts through timely action.

He described the security forces as a valuable national asset and said the Pakistani nation stood with them in the fight against terrorism.

The latest operations underscore the continuing security challenges facing Pakistan’s two western provinces, where militant attacks and counterterrorism operations have increased in recent years.

According to security sources, the 11 militants killed in the latest operations were affiliated with the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
