QUETTA (Terror Monitor) — Eleven terrorists were killed during security operations in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province, including eight in Kharan district and three in Washuk district, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing.
The ISPR said security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Kharan and Washuk on September 6 and 7 following reports of the presence of India-backed terrorists.
According to the military, on September 6, terrorists attempted to block a road and disrupt traffic in Kharan. Security forces responded immediately, surrounded the terrorists and killed eight of them in an exchange of fire.
The ISPR said that on September 7, security forces also conducted an operation in the Washuk area after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists. During the operation, the forces effectively destroyed a terrorist hideout and killed three terrorists following an exchange of fire.
The military said security forces also recovered 2.9 tonnes of explosives, which were being used to manufacture improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Terror Monitor was told by security officials that the terrorists killed in the operations belonged to the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
