PESHAWAR (Terror Monitor) — Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed five terrorists, including a key commander of the outlawed Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), during an operation in Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Terror Monitor, the CTD conducted an operation at a compound in the Armar area near the Shamshatoo camp, killing five terrorists.
The CTD said the terrorists affiliated with ISKP were planning major terrorist attacks, including bombings targeting sensitive government installations, imambargahs and churches.
Among those killed were key ISKP commander Imran, alias Abdullah, and Bilal, alias Abu Bakr. Another terrorist was identified as Shahidullah, son of Miraj, a resident of Upper Mohmand. The identification of the remaining terrorists is under way.
According to the CTD, security personnel recovered an SMG, four pistols, two hand grenades, five magazines and a locally made improvised explosive device (IED) from the terrorists.
Authorities said Imran, alias Abu Bakr, was wanted in 20 terrorism cases, including bomb attacks and the targeted killings of police personnel and political leaders in Islamabad and other districts. He was also wanted in connection with the killings of Maulana Khan Zeb and former Senator Hidayatullah Khan, among others.
The CTD said Imran was directly involved in the killing of Rehan Zeb and had remained at the scene with other terrorists, where he also opened fire.
He was also allegedly involved in the suicide bombing at a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) workers’ convention in Bajaur in 2023.
According to the CTD, Imran was also wanted in connection with the suicide bombing at an imambargah in Tarlai, Islamabad, on February 6, 2026. The CTD said Imran had arranged for the suicide vest to be brought from Bajaur and transported the suicide bomber from Nowshera to Tarlai in Islamabad.
Authorities said the slain terrorist Shahidullah had conducted reconnaissance of the Tarlai imambargah and identified it as a target.
The CTD said a reward of 120 million Pakistani rupees had been announced for information leading to Imran alias Abu Bakr’s arrest or whereabouts.
Following the operation, a search and clearance operation is continuing in the area.
