Pakistan: Policeman Killed, DSP Among Five Injured in Militant Attack in DIKhan

Peshawar (Terror Monitor) — A policeman was killed and five others, including a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), were injured when militants attacked the vehicle of Kalachi DSP Kifayatullah Marwat in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to police, the attack took place on the Dera Ismail Khan–Tank Road near Ali Amin Gandapur Farm, within the jurisdiction of Hathala Police Station.
The attack also damaged the police vehicle.
The injured personnel were identified as DSP Kifayatullah Marwat, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Nauman, ex-serviceman Ghulam Hashim, Ghulam Saeed and Lady Constable Amber.
The injured personnel were immediately shifted to the Trauma Centre at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan for medical treatment.
Police said Constable Muhammad Saeed later succumbed to his injuries.
Following the attack, police tightened security in the area and launched an operation to locate and arrest those responsible.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
