Kyiv (Terror Monitor) — A Russian ballistic missile strike on a major Ukrainian defense industry event in the Kyiv region on Friday, July 24, killed 10 people and injured nearly 100 others.
Reports from Kyiv said Ukrainian officials and representatives of the country's defense sector confirmed that the Russian attack targeted a location where dozens of people had gathered to attend a defense industry event.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a post on the Telegram messaging platform that an investigation was underway to determine what happened at the site and how the incident occurred.
Zelenskyy said emergency rescue operations were continuing at the location of the Russian ballistic missile strike in the Kyiv region.
Acting Kyiv regional governor Ruslan Olenyk said initial reports indicated that the missile hit a private training ground where a large event was taking place.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defense Industry Council said the strike targeted a location where many representatives of the country’s defense sector had gathered.
