Trump Warns of Strikes on Iranian Infrastructure if Ships Are Attacked in Strait of Hormuz

WASHINGTON (Terror Monitor) —U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that if Iran attacks any vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, the United States will retaliate by targeting Iranian infrastructure.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said that from now on, whenever the Islamic Republic of Iran attacks a ship in the Strait of Hormuz with missiles, rockets, drones, or any other weapon, the U.S. will respond by bombing and destroying a bridge or a power plant.

He added that potential targets could include facilities located near or within the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Earlier, Trump also said that a possible future U.S. target could be the underground "Pick Axe Mountain" nuclear complex, which is suspected of housing an undeclared uranium enrichment facility.

Speaking to reporters at the White House alongside Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Trump said, "We will strike that area very soon and with full force."

He added that he does not usually announce military targets in advance, but in this case, "there is nothing they can do about it."

The U.S. military has continued strikes on Iran for an eleventh consecutive day. Meanwhile, Iran claims it has retaliated by targeting U.S. military bases in Kuwait and Jordan.

According to Jordanian media, explosions were heard near the Jordanian city of Aqaba, close to the Israeli city of Eilat, while air raid sirens were activated.

Jordan's military said it intercepted six missiles launched from Iran toward its territory. Four were destroyed by air defense systems, while two landed in remote uninhabited areas without causing casualties or damage.

The Jordanian military also reported shooting down four Iranian drones that were headed toward Jordanian territory.

Meanwhile, Kuwait's military said its air defenses were responding to Iranian drone attacks, while Bahrain announced that it had successfully intercepted Iranian attacks.

Earlier, Iran claimed it had targeted U.S. assets in Kuwait and Bahrain, including air defense systems, radar installations, and administrative buildings.

Iranian state media reported multiple explosions early Wednesday in the southern cities of Bushehr, Mahshahr, Omidiyeh, and Sark, as well as in the northwestern city of Tabriz, following U.S. strikes.

The deputy governor of Bushehr confirmed the attacks but said there were no casualties.

According to Bushehr's Deputy Governor for Political and Security Affairs, Ehsan Jahaniyan, the strikes hit areas near Khormuj in Dashti County, while Bushehr Province was targeted in two separate waves.

He said a U.S. missile strike damaged an electrical substation near the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, temporarily disrupting electricity in the port area. Power was fully restored in less than two hours.

Iranian media also reported at least three explosions near Sark, a location that has frequently been identified as a key U.S. target since the latest escalation between Washington and Tehran.

Separately, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told lawmakers on Wednesday that the United States has spent approximately $37.5 billion on the war with Iran so far, about $8 billion more than the estimate released in May.

Testifying before the Senate Appropriations Committee, Hegseth said Congress must approve an additional $87 billion for the Pentagon, including $67 billion earmarked for military operations in the Middle East.
