Two Pakistani civilians, Azmat Rasool and Mohsin Jutt, were killed and another injured in a shooting involving India’s Border Security Force near the international border in Kasur district. Pakistani sources said the men were shot without warning, while Indian media, citing BSF sources, claimed the two killed were attempting to cross into Indian Punjab illegally.
Pakistan’s military accused Kandahar Governor Mullah Shireen of hosting BLA, al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent and Hafiz Gul Bahadur group leaders at an August 26 meeting to discuss attacks inside Pakistan. Kabul rejected the allegations, while Pakistan presented no public evidence to substantiate its claims.
Balochistan Deputy Commissioner Munir Soomro was recovered on Friday, nearly two weeks after unidentified armed terrorists abducted him while travelling from Quetta to Kharan on September 20. Authorities have not disclosed whether ransom was paid or any conditions were agreed upon for his release.
Pakistan’s military presented a retired soldier named Mohammad Asif, who said he is alive, after India identified a slain Budgam militant as LeT commander Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Musa. The identities remain disputed and independently unverified.
Pakistan’s airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Helmand provinces killed at least 10 civilians, mostly children, and injured nine others, the UN said. Pakistan claimed 22 militants were killed, while Kabul accused Islamabad of targeting civilian homes.
Five people, including four security personnel, were killed and another official was wounded when unidentified armed terrorists attacked a vehicle near Pir Inayat Shah shrine in Dera Bugti district, officials said. The attack followed clashes in Loti that reportedly killed eight attackers and a Peace Force volunteer, while a separate blast destroyed a hotel in Mastung’s Khadkocha area.
India’s Chinar Corps said Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa, identified as a Lashkar-e-Taiba commander active in Kashmir for the past three years, was killed during an operation in Budgam’s Korag area. The Army said his body was recovered along with “war-like stores” and identified him as a key LeT operative linked to armed activities in Kashmir.
Two Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) terrorists were killed in a security operation in Nokcha, Chagai district, after allegedly setting fire to an empty water tanker and attempting to flee. Security sources said the militants were also involved in arson attacks along the N-40 highway.
At least 49 people were killed and 58 wounded in an airstrike near a market in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, as fighting between the military and armed resistance groups intensifies across the country. The attack was reported in Kyauktaw township, while clashes and airstrikes were also reported in Kachin and Karenni states.
Five terrorists affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Khyber district, security sources said. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered, while TTP hideouts were also destroyed during the operation.
India’s National Investigation Agency has arrested 13 people across Assam, West Bengal and Kerala in a probe into an alleged network linked to the banned Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh and Imam Mahmuder Kafila. Authorities allege the network was involved in online radicalisation, recruitment and extremist propaganda targeting young people.
A suspected suicide bombing targeted a government revenue office in Tator village on the outskirts of Tank district in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Police said only the suspected suicide bomber was killed, with no civilian or security personnel casualties reported.
