Pakistani security forces killed 28 terrorists in three separate operations in Balochistan, according to the military and security sources. The operations were conducted in areas of Quetta, Kech and Mastung, while an army officer was also killed and another security personnel was wounded.
Pakistan said it shot down eight drones that entered its airspace from Afghanistan, while the Afghan Taliban government denied launching any drone attack against Pakistan. The incident follows reported TTP infiltration attempts, cross-border clashes and recent Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan.
Pakistani security forces killed two wanted terrorist commanders in separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts, according to security sources. Meanwhile, an alleged TTP infiltration attempt was thwarted in Kurram, followed by cross-border fire between Pakistani forces and Afghan Taliban positions.
Six terrorists affiliated with the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) were killed and nine suspects arrested during security operations in Sarang Tangi on the outskirts of Quetta, security sources said. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site, according to the sources.
Two policemen escorting a female polio vaccination team were killed when unidentified armed terrorists opened fire in Nushki district of Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Police said the vaccination workers remained safe, while the attackers fled with the policemen’s weapons.
Sri Lanka’s High Court has convicted 15 people over their alleged involvement in the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings that killed more than 270 people and injured over 500 others. Pakistani security forces have killed five BLA terrorists and rescued 23 hostages during an operation near Kalat in Balochistan. The military said the terrorists had established an illegal checkpoint to abduct passengers, collect ransoms, extort money and seize vehicles.
Kharan Deputy Commissioner Munir Somro and three others, including his personal security guard, have allegedly been abducted by unidentified armed men in Balochistan. Authorities have launched efforts to locate and safely recover them, while no group has claimed responsibility.
Eleven terrorists were killed in separate security operations in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, with five killed in Panjgur and six in Chagai, according to security sources. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the sites.
