U.S. Allows Saudi Arabia to Begin Nuclear Program

The United States is expected to announce a major nuclear cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia that would allow Riyadh to develop a civilian nuclear program, including possible uranium enrichment facilities. The deal, worth billions of dollars, has raised concerns among nuclear experts and Israeli officials over the potential risk of nuclear weapons proliferation in the Middle East. The agreement will require approval and review by the U.S. Congress.
