Pakistan: Four Security Personnel’s Bodies Recovered in Balochistan’s Harnai

QUETTA (Terror Monitor) —The bodies of four serving and retired security personnel have been recovered from the Shaban area of Harnai district in Balochistan, according to officials.

A senior government official confirmed that the bodies were several days old. One of the deceased was identified as Inspector Zubair Ahmed of the Airport Security Force (ASF), who had been abducted along with a friend last month.

The other victims were identified as former Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) official Khalil Ahmed, retired security forces Havaldar Muhammad Sadiq, and police constable Fareed Ahmed.

Officials said Zubair Ahmed and Khalil Ahmed were abducted from Quetta on June 21, while Muhammad Sadiq was abducted from Ziarat on July 5 and Fareed Ahmed was reportedly taken from the Mangi area of Ziarat on July 5 or 6.

Authorities said unidentified armed men killed the four individuals and later dumped their bodies in Shaban, an area adjacent to Quetta district.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the killings.

The recoveries come after recent attacks in the region. Authorities said a security operation, named Operation Shaban, is ongoing against militants in Shaban and surrounding areas following attacks in Hanna Urak’s Babri area and Mangi in Ziarat.

Government officials claim that several militants have been killed during the operation, but the claims have not been independently verified.
