WASHINGTON, D.C. (Terror Monitor) — U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the nation during the main ceremony marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, highlighting U.S. military strength, the economy, election reforms and foreign policy. During his speech, he also commented on U.S. actions against Iran, operations involving Venezuela, the capabilities of the American military and his administration's future policy priorities.
The event was delayed for several hours due to severe weather, thunderstorms and heavy rain. However, Trump declined to postpone the celebration, telling the audience that he had been advised to reschedule it but chose to proceed as planned.
In his nearly 40-minute address, Trump described the United States as "the greatest achievement in human civilization" and said the country was entering a new "Golden Age" under his leadership.
"The American military is stronger today than it has ever been," Trump said, adding that there is no challenge the United States cannot overcome and no goal it cannot achieve.
Discussing foreign policy, Trump said the United States had severely degraded Iran's military capabilities. He also referred to U.S. actions involving Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and military operations against Iran as examples of American strength abroad.
He stated that "the American military has never been more powerful" and added that the United States had "wiped out Iran's military."
Turning to domestic issues, Trump voiced support for election reforms, including the proposed Save America Act, and referred to his planned executive order aimed at ending automatic birthright citizenship.
He also reaffirmed his support for protecting the Second Amendment, pledging to defend Americans' constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
Trump further said that military and law enforcement recruitment had increased significantly during his administration, making it more competitive to join those services.
Throughout the speech, he praised the U.S. economy, entrepreneurship and individual freedoms, criticized communism, and highlighted what he described as the achievements of his administration.
The president also paid tribute to U.S. military veterans, saying their sacrifices had made the United States the world's strongest nation.
Concluding his address, Trump declared, "This is only the beginning of America's Golden Age."
