TEHRAN/WASHINGTON (Terror Monitor) — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Friday that American forces had launched a new round of strikes against Iran, marking the seventh consecutive night of military operations.
In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said U.S. forces had begun another wave of attacks as part of an ongoing campaign ordered by President Donald Trump to degrade Iran's military capabilities.
The U.S. military did not disclose which locations were targeted in the latest strikes, and no information was immediately available regarding casualties or damage.
Iran Reports Casualties
Iran's Ministry of Health said 38 people were killed and more than 400 others injured in U.S. strikes carried out during July.
In a post on X, the ministry said that as of 6:30 a.m. on July 16, the casualty toll from the attacks had reached 38 killed and more than 400 injured.
According to Iranian officials, the wounded include 22 women and nine children under the age of 18, while one of those killed was also under 18 years old.
The ministry added that 47 people remain hospitalized across Iran and continue to receive treatment.
The casualty figures released by Iranian authorities have not been independently verified.
Iran Claims Strike on U.S. Naval Vessel
Separately, the Iranian military claimed its navy targeted a U.S. naval vessel in the northern Indian Ocean during the 13th phase of Operation Lightning.
According to Iran's military public relations department, the vessel was struck with a land-attack cruise missile, forcing it to withdraw from the operational area of Iranian forces.
The statement did not identify the vessel or provide evidence supporting the claim.
U.S. officials have not commented on the allegation, and no independent confirmation of the reported attack or any resulting damage has been released.

The latest exchange highlights the continuing military confrontation between the United States and Iran, with both sides announcing new operations while providing competing accounts of events.
