Pakistan: KP Violence Wave—Police Killed, School Bombed, Suicide Vest Recovered

PESHAWAR (Terror Monitor) — A series of security-related incidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have left two police personnel dead, a suspected suicide vest recovered, and damage reported at a girls’ school.

In the Mohmand district, unknown armed terrorists opened fire on a routine police mobile patrol, killing Additional SHO Zaitullah and Head Constable Noor Zib on the spot, while Constable driver Zahir was critically injured. Police said the attack took place in the Machni Aqrab Dag area of Lower Mohmand when the patrol was on routine duty. The attackers managed to flee the scene, and a search operation has been launched.

In a separate incident in Nowshera’s Akora Khattak tehsil, police recovered a suspected suicide vest weighing around seven kilograms near the former Afghan refugee camp area of Shinawana. According to police, the explosive device was found after credible intelligence about a suspicious bag in the area. The Bomb Disposal Unit safely secured the vest for further technical examination, while a search operation is ongoing to identify possible facilitators.

Meanwhile, in Bannu’s Khairaki area, an explosion targeted the outer wall of a Government Girls School after an improvised explosive device detonated. Police said the blast damaged the boundary wall of the school, but no casualties were reported as the building was empty due to summer vacations. Security in the area has been tightened, and an investigation is underway.

Officials said investigations into all three incidents are ongoing as security forces assess possible links and broader patterns of militant activity in the region.
